Past WTU Events > World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs

A ten year long global legacy of developing successful, emerging leaders.

OVERVIEW

The World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs, established in Canada in 1993, has always been coordinated as an integral part of major global UN conferences. The summit has been held nine times in six countries on four continents. Over an 11-year period, the summit has brought together over 4,800 emerging young entrepreneurs (between ages 21 and 42) from 185 countries and has facilitated over 1,000 international joint ventures, ranging in value between $20,000 USD and $2 million USD in a wide array of sectors.

The first four events focused on social entrepreneurs and leaders, with a significant focus on civil society and multi lateral agency representation. The subsequent five events, held between 1997 and 2003, have focused primarily on young entrepreneurs who operate high value added businesses in emerging economies.

The next WSYE is earmarked as part of the World Trade Forum in Vancouver, Canada in late Fall 2005. The World Trade Forum is a UN Global Partnership Mechanism. request information on wsye...
