Power of Marketing was the theme of the first ever World Tourism Marketing Summit, held over the period of three intensive full days in Nanjing, China, between November 21 and 23, 2004. The Summit was an initiative of the World Trade University Global Secretariat based in Canada and it was an integral part of the World Trade Forum—a United Nations Global Partnership Platform. The China National Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China was the Host of the Summit and the People’s Government of Nanjing represented the Host City. The World Travel and Tourism Council was the Lead Global Patron.

All who attended the three-day intensive conference event heralds a new and exciting era for Chinese inbound and outbound tourism. While many dignitaries in the world of media, government and hospitality made impressive presentations, the real star of the show was China, herself.

Beijing will Host WTMS 2006!

The incredible closing ceremony featured the the Mayor of Nanjing handing over the helm as WTMS Host City for the next event. The Nanjing Mayor proudly handed over the official WTMS flag to the Director of Beijing Tourism, to announce the next WTMS event will be hosted by THe People's Government of Beijing.
